The story so far: Episode 1 / Episode 2</li>

I forgot who it was that suggested that curious_reader, who made בַּר־נָבִיא the pink rabbit, should make a lady doe friend for him so he could have a girlfriend. When curious_reader actually did so, I had the idea of getting a new rabbit as a surprise gift for aviva_m, but it was too late, unfortunately: she'd already seen curious_reader's photo on Facebook.

Still, בַּר־נָבִיא was happy to make a new friend, though they took a little while to get comfortable with each other:

[the pink and grey rabbits together]

A couple of days later, aviva_m, בַּר־נָבִיא and I went out for cocktails (noch) with a friend. We invited the grey rabbit too (who has not yet got a name), but she was busy washing her hair fur:

(She needed it: my one-year-old niece had put various parts of her into her mouth.) בַּר־נָבִיא consoled herself by reminiscing over their first date:

It was aviva_m herself suggesting to make a girl-friend for the pink rabbit. That is why I put it on facebook. The pink rabbit could maybe use a bath as well. I never actually wash my things. I leave it to my customers. The grey rabbit seemed to have survived the bath really well.

Yes, but you don't put them in your mouth!

The grey rabbit seemed to have survived the bath really well.

You haven't seen the rabbit after its bath! was worried she wouldn't survive being put in the tumble driers at the launderette. So, I gave her a dry with a hairdrier, but it didn't make much difference to her stuffing: the drying power wasn't getting that far inside her. So I tried putting her in the oven at a moderately low temperature, and opening the door from time to time, but she was still pretty wet inside. I thought maybe I could take her apart and dry her stuffing separately, but I can't see any obvious seams. Did you actually make her all in one piece, or at any rate with different pieces of wool knotted together and the knots inside, and then the crocheting closed up seamlessly?

I was worried that if I left her wet, she would start to smell, and/or, even worse, go mouldy inside. Yet I needed to go to bed. So in the end I put the hotplate on, with the lid half open so it both retained the heat but also let the warm air out, and balanced her so she was held off the bottom and doesn't burn.

The following morning, she was warm and dry, and smelt faintly of toast (but only if you put your nose up close to her and sniffed). But I think her stuffing didn't quite return to its previous volume after I'd tried to wring the water out of her, so she's perhaps slightly understuffed compared to before. But maybe it's just my imagination.

It was not intended for a baby. I sewed it all together. It is not suitable for reopening. Normally people wash their teddies and soft toys as you did and just let it air dry. I thought it would do the trick. You method could have destroyed it. Luckily it did not.
I wash my stuffed cushion that are industrial made however. It takes a few days but it does air dry and smells nice again.

I was keeping my eyes on what she did with it, but then I left the room, and the other people weren't so carefully.
